    Barenboim / Beethoven

    DanielBarenboim - Beethoven: Sinfonien 1-9 [4 DVDs]
    with the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra

The performance is very lively and appealing.

Produced in DTS 5.1 and PCM stereo

This offer is less expensive than the formerly mentioned edition in DVD Audio.

    Hamburg Elbphilharmonie "Elphi"

In a few days, next month, Hamburg will come into the focus of the daily news.
I would like to point to the new „Elbphilharmonie“ in Hamburg, a concert hall which opened in january this year.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elbphilharmonie

It is said that its acoustics can compete with any other hall in the world.
I'm still searching for a outstanding multichannel recording made in this hall.
On Youtube you can find some stereo recordings made in the „Elphi“, for example this one:

    G20/ Beethoven

Today in the evening the guests will meet in the Elbphilharmonie.
It will be played "Ode an die Freude".
Here is an recording by the Elbphilharmonie on Youtube.
It might be advantageous to switch to DTS NEO:6 or DOLBY PLIIx

I've been listening to the Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band, the Phat Pack recording in multi-channel. Big band music is not usually my thing, but this is an exception, because it sounds so fabulous. If you have some older relatives over and you want them to understand why expensive gear is worth the cost, this is what you would want to play. Big and bold and technically flawless.

I have that in stereo and it is quite awesome in that format as well.

Unfortunately while a few years ago I had two complete multi-channel systems at present I do n't have any.

I think it is a shame just when music started to get real hi-res, mp3, i pods and ear plugs took over the market.
