    anyone recognise this driver/diaphragm?

I wonder if any of you clever chaps can help me identify this driver.

I bought it as a 2440, but find that it has a phenolic diaphragm. Does that mean its a 2482 or 2485 instead? Or are there Phenolics available for 2440s?

I tested it on a 250hz lecleach round horn for 600hz up and it sounds very sweet indeed. I'd rather like to locate another one....

    Thanks in advance,
    Maravedis

I have read the phenolic dias the 248X not included in the 2440/41 fit. I am not sure whether this is true. There is but here specialists you a 100% response can.

Sorry to say that's a 2482 not a 2440 or 2441. The diaphragms are not interchangeable between the 2482 and 40's or 41's. The driver body is basically the same only the 2482's have a larger diameter ring around the diaphragm to allow for the half roll surround. Radian makes an aluminum diaphragm for the 2482 drivers.
Is it possible to return it or a get some refund.

    suspected as much..

    Mike,
Thanks for that. I suspected as much. Its making nice music at the moment though.
Can you give me some idea of how this driver with new radian aluminium 'phrams would compare to the 2440?

I have never personally heard the Radian 2482 aluminum replacement diaphragms. People have said they sound good. I have some Radian diaphragms in some one inch drivers and those sound good but that's hardly any comparison to the 2482.

The 2482's are great sounding mid range drivers and with proper horns can be crossed over down to 300hz or so but you do something on top for high frequency, tweeters, one inch driver ect.
