    Improving 4315Bīs

    Hi folks,
    Do you remember the post?
    http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...t=19237&page=2
well, finally and after a few months of maturation and negotiations with the spanish seller, it seems that Iīm going to buy those blue cabs for less money.
My question is what can I do for improving the crossover and the speaker in general.
What would be necessary for convert them to the model 4315A?
    Which are the main differences?
    Thanks.

Hi Tweeter. Just to clarify, I understand you bought a set of 4315B's, not the 4315A's I was considering selling. 'Sorry the shipping, etc., worked out to be so much if buying mine, and I'm happy you found a nice pair. Did you buy that pair of 4315B's that was recently on eBay, or something more local to you?

The main difference between the "A" and "B" versions is that they switched to ferrite drivers in the "B" version. Member 4313B has in the past said the crossovers in 4315's would benefit from adding bypass capacitors.

    Hi John,
still not bought, but I have the intent in brief. The blues are from a spanish local seller, not from Ebay.
I knew the differences of magnets but I donīt know if the crossover is the same for both models.
Changing only drivers will mean that the speakers becomes to be 4315a?
Alnico is for more power? Are there more differences in the sound?
    Regards.

I'm not sure on the crossovers between the A and the B models - I believe the schematics are in some past threads here.

The ferrite magnet versions in the B series can handle more power than the alnico drivers. I'm sure there are minor differences in the sound, though which is better is usually a matter of taste...

    Crossover

This is the newest crossover diagram I have ever found, 3114 although there were minor changes to the caps , not value but using 2 x 10uF rather than one 20uF

I think Greg added a 2.5 ohm resistor in series between the LE5 and the L-Pad on the last version.

I thought that Alnico drivers are more powerful, better and expensives than ferrite. Perhaps Iīm wrong?
About crossover, will benefit with bypassing capacitors?
Has anyone the schematics of modified crossover?

I also found a cheaper pair of 4315(no A,B) for sale, and I wonder which are better.
Just for repairing, is anywhere the transducer equivalent chart?
