    Cool Amplification for 4430

    Hello.
I have just bought a pair of this model and I want to know which is the best amplification for these loudspeakers.I have an amplification marantz 1122dc for my 4312A and L40 and for these loudspeakers it is OK ... but I believe that it is small for the 4430.

    Hello,

The Crown D-A-series amps prior to the black-face Series-II versions all have satin faces but were never designed to be as pretty as what you have there. That point notwithstanding, the better selection for the purpose of actually sounding good would be the Crown PS-series, preferably the PS-400. I have both the D and the PS series and the PS is rather forgotten but is actually simply an improved D-series with a few better features and more output. Here's the D150A:

The Crown Poweline 4 (PL-4) is the consumer version of the PS-400 made in black or satin finish and it would actually look pretty nice in your stand, if you can find one. They bring a lot of money compared to the better PS-400 but if looks are important . . .

Wish I could find a photo for you. It's a strong, good-looking amp.

Not sure what amp you used, but the 2235 woofers like 150w/ch minimum ... 250-300w/ch is better ...

Sure that it is a fantastic equipment but I have to change all my modules them to be able to adapt to the new equipment "pro", because of it I look for some kind of "hifi"

I'm a big Nelson Pass fan, so I use all Pass engineered equipment, either Nakamichi, or Adcom.

There is another member who uses Nakamichi PA7-AII on his 4430's and loves it, and one member who is running a GFA-5802 on his 4430's, who has now bi-amped a pair of 5802's on his 4345's.

I find this gear to have much realism, and great detail in playback.
