at the max i can spend $1200 for electronics as i have budget constraints.what is your opinion on crown dsi1000.
Hi.
Im currently using a Crown XTi wich is similar to the CDi. Very good bottom, but the mids and hight suck........
At $1200 i would go with a good SS amp. Rotel might work for you.

Guns,
I would have a look at the Bryston 3bst . I think they would sound brilliant.
Clean mid and Highs and a tight punch on the low end. They go for around £500 in mint condition. Then ,when have some more cash look for a nice little valve amp to bi-amp them .
Or, a valve output pre and the Bryston. What kind of music do you most listen to ? Vinyl or CD ?

Hi
found a dealer who sells brystons products but very highly priced 2bsst cost $3750 & 3Bsst is $4375, way out of my reach.i need to locate where seconds or used amps are available.Pls suggest any other brands.
i listen to cds
If you stretch the budget a bit you might be able to find a used Mark Levinson No.331. Thats a great amd that you can live with for many years.
Personally i don't like the Brystons. I find them a bit harsh sounding in the mids/highs. Very good bass in them though.

Guns,
not sure about your name !!!!!! Anyway, I have heard very good things about this gear. http://www.tnt-audio.com/ampli/pas4isl_e.html
You are going to have to import to find a deal!

That amp sure looks nice Rich.
Have you tried it? The price is good also. Very clean design it seems.

Hi Tim,
Gerrard from Morroco was here a while back. He uses the gear. I respect the guy so I feel comfortable putting the brand forward. Van Alstine is from Audio Research- pretty good credentials and well within the budget.

look at audiogon plenty of bryston there for your mony
Dear Valentin,
Thankx for the advise will lookup the site.just out of curiosity what percentage of the total sum is allocated for source, amp, speaker & cables.
In India people give lot of weightage for cables, is it really that important, does it make the music sound that much different. Thanks in advance
Guns
You might consider the Bryston B100 SST. If you are worried about cables you can eliminate at least one pair as it is an integrated amp. It is built like a tank and sounds exceptionally good. They even have a version with a built in DAC so that you can take a digital signal from a CD player or music server and have it processed right in the amp. I am generally a separates advocate, but this piece is an exception.

This particular monitor will show up not just your amp but your source.
It also depends on what you like to play and how loud.
The LRS series like to eat up lots of watts for their dynamics so I think 200 watts would be . Any less and you risk blowing the tweeters.
I dont know if you are into diy but this is well regarded and can be prbuilt.
It was compared a ML favourable.

These are also very good ..thousands have been sold world wide and can be purchased pre assembled.
