    100A Bass Energizer

Floating around inside speaker cabs are these boxes. They are between crossover and woofer. Speakers are 848A from 1966.

    Altec Lansing
    100A Bass Energizer
    16 ohm
    Extreme low pass filter

    Any info... spec sheets ?

Not an altec nubie but have never seen these.
What are they doing... and should they go or stay

I have never tested one, but apparently it it attenuates the midrange and upper bass frequencies, giving the impression of more bass.

    Don thanks
    That's it.

I will A/B in + out tomorrow but I think I'll remove and listen for awhile
    then decide .
Sounds ok at very low volume but maybe doing harm at high levels I will check .
