Introduction and request for JBL help

Hi I am new to this forum and hope to begin to learn more about JBL and their history.I'm currently trying to refurb a Dual Showman extension cabinet I purchased new in 1968.(Yeah I'm a dino) I have a JBL K130 which is fine for guitar but I'm wondering if the JBL 2220A will work for said application.Any advice would be appreciated. Mike

    Hello

Welcome to the forum. I would think a 2135 might be closer to an E/K130 if that's what you are looking for. If you have not already been, check out the library

The 2220s were designed as a low-frequency driver, generally to be used for 800Hz & lower, and only rated for up to ~2,000Hz.

    Hope this helps...

Rob,thanks for the welcome.Appreciate the tip.The reason I've asked about the 2220A is, yes I have a pristine one already in hand. I'm certainly open to just copping another K130 but was hoping it might suffice. I've been wailing on it this week and the tone is awesome.Just didn't want to destroy it if it will not meet this type of application.Again thanks for all input in advance,Mike!!
