Electro-voice T350 driver

I have a short in the ground terminal and can't remove the the cover plate to make the repair. I removed the horn and the plate rotates but I don't want to hurt anything. Does anyone have any knowledge on how to do it?

If i remember correctly, these have four screws through the magnet assy. exiting out the rear that need to be removed.The whole front end can then be pulled straight off to reveal the diaphragm assy.you will have to unsolder the thin v.c. leads to effect replacement but this is no prob.There is nothing to unscrew or twist in dissassembly.They are an excellent H.F. unit.And they use a phenolic Diaph.Go figure!I have come to believe that the aluminum does not contribute so much to frequency extension as it does to increased efficiency due to it's incredibly low mass.The T-350 and smaller brother T-35 are excellent H.F. units and any bad-mouthng of them is purely by the uninformed and those who have never heard them.have use them in professional P.A. app. with excellent results.Four of each per side in Bob Heil style setup. PA? Well, maybe, but T-35s hardly even qualify as tweeters by contemporary Hi-Fi standards. They mostly populate junk tweeter boxes anymore:

I've never measured T350s, but compensation might be an option, as EV themselves recommended with ST-350 et.al.

Zilch: thanks for the info on the ST350. I have the older T350, and to my "ears" they sound better than the JBL 075 ring radiator and the 077 slot radiator.

Do you happen to know the difference between the "newer" ST350 and the T350. I believe the ST350 uses the newer CD horn.

When I built my Altec 414/806s in 1975, I used the T350s as a super tweeter using an active crossover at 7khz @ 12db/octave butterworth. One of the main reasons for using the T350 was cost. The JBL 075/077s were "fair traded," ie JBL could and did tell the retailers what to charge, and no matter which retailer/dealer you went to, the price was the same, I think back then it was around $175 each. Not so with the EV T350 as discounts were readily found they were well under $100 each. The T35s were about ~$40 each. The T350s are good, but at today's prices, to me the T350s are not worth the ~$250 each.

There may be some info available on T350, but it's not in the EV archives that I can find. I believe they're T-35 horns with bigger motors, no? :dont-know

None of this is Lansing fare, of course, but the EV tweeters have been discussed peripherally in other threads here.

I'm standing up for the purely uninformed bad-mouthers re: T-35s, is all, and awaiting "Measurements are meaningless, use your ears, it's the MUSIC, stupid," now....

[I don't much like 075, and not 077, either, unless it's crossed in WAY high (10 kHz,) and even then, it's too beamy for me. The new mylar-diaphragm ring radiators sound better, in my view, and can be used with controlled directivity horns/waveguides.... ]

Here's a T350 in its natural habitat, in this case an EV Georgian 400. Sorry there's not much for scale, but it's a BUNCH larger than a T35. Speaking of which, I have a dead T35 and couldn't easily get IT apart after removing screws. Get a bigger hammer, er I mean grip?
