    Size of 4343 Grill Plates?

    Hello to all 4343 owners.

As I am in the process of producing 4343 Grill Plates I urgently need the original measurements.
The file that Widget gave me (thanks to him) prints out to 19 x 3,5 inch or 480 x 89 mm.
I just want to make shure that this is the real size.

    Guido,

I have one in my hand and it measures 31.75mm (1.25") by 479.425mm (18.875").

I am sorry you are still having trouble with that name plate.

    He Widget,

    I do not have trouble!

Without your help this would not be possible.

Now we are on the way

    Thanks!

JBL records say the length of the nameplates for the 4343B was 15", and that the length of the 4343C nameplate was 18.94" long!
I prefer the look of the longer plate, as it fits on the top of the front of the grille frame with a more evenly- spaced look.
Also, I'm not sure JBL's records are always that precise or complete. (I've seen 4343B nameplates that are the longer version!) A bit of trivia.

I'm not sure, but it was listed in a JBL chart listing the nameplate sizes, if I remember correctly.

I purchased a set of Guido's reproduction plates for my pair of 4343s and they look great!

    Dear Guido

Wondering if you have one pair of spare grill plates for sale for my JBL 4343.
My pair of 4343B has the grill plates but not my 4343.
Some owners told me that JBL 4343 does not have any grill plate originally. Could this be true???

    Best regards

Photos of original 4343s clearly show nameplates. The photo in our JBL Library, for example, show these plates, though it shows the plates on this version to be the shorter plate. Other photos of later runs show the long nameplates.

    Original 4343 plates

I own an original pair of JBL Grilles and plates. The plates measure 15'' inches wide by 1 1/4" high. I could provide a picture if you wish but I was the original owner of these when they were new. Hope this helps

    JBL 4343 grill plates

    Dear Markymark

Please kindly let me know if I could purchase the
pair of JBL 4343 grill plates from you. I need them to
complement my other pair of JBL 4343B speakers which has
the same sized-grill plates as yours. Kindly e-mail me at
your earliest convenience to confirm if you would be willing
to let go the grill plates separately from the grills.

    Thank you
    Sam Tay
