    All 2" compression drivers - 6db compensation

Ity seems that all JBL 2" compression drivers are subjected to a diaphragm mass break-up at 3k to 3.5KHz. Does it mean that a 6db compensation at 6db/octave slope at 3k to 3.5KHz should be applied to all of them, not only when installed in constant directivity horns?

    TIA

non CD horns compensate by beaming, best is to check the technical paper of the horns mounted and see how the drivers used for measuring compare to your drivers

typical examples of mentioned "horns compensate by beaming" can be seen if horns such as:
    -2311+2308
    -2397
    -Yuichi-A290
    -Edgar horn

    with JBL 244x drivers

    regards

So the Yuichi A290 and JBL 2397 don´t need equalizing, because the internal fins make them sound very linear up to 10khz right?

But a JBL 2350 or H9800 for example would need massive equalizing...
