    2258 vs 2245

Any personal experience with 2258 vs 2245? Don't tell me 2258 has 3 inch voice coil or weighs less. I got that part.

Have you looked at the TS parameters? The 2258 only has 8mm Xmax. The 2245 has 9.65.

I'd be interested in hearing the 2256 with 20mm Xmax or 2268 with 23 Xmax.

Use the 2245H for HiFi / TS parameters don't lie

    Thom,

    - The 2258(s)' cone is too light and its' Fs is too high to warrant using it in HiFi ( as a 2245 substitute ) .

    - For HiFi use ( as opposed to SR work ), you want to get the Fs of the 2258 ( or 2268 ) down to around 20 hz while increasing "mms" up to at least 185 grams ( versus the lightweight 140 grams that the 2258 presently measures in at ) .
