Do you know how much Horn Adaptors influence the sound of an Horn Driver combo?
I’m thinking of using a 1,5” horn on a 2426H Driver (1”).
Thanks!

I would make the adaptor about 3" long, so it will have a slow taper, apart from the phase issue, it shouldn´t have a problem, also You would get lower freq loading, I have done it some times.
I ask about the same question on the Pro Sound Web - August 20, 2003 - and Tracy Sherwood of Design Direct Sound Inc. was kind enough to take the time to answer:
" ... it has been my experience that adapters move the compression driver back from the originally designed "entry" area of a horn and can result in some beaming at high freq. (like 8-10K and up) ...
search the archive at Pro Sound Web for at little more discussion.

I totally missed this thread.
My only experience is with using the 2327 to use a JBL 1" driver on a 2" horn. I was not happy with the results. The highs were rolled off and mids accentuated. When I put the proper 2" driver on the horn there was significant improvement.
