    Best JBL´s for my amp?

    Hi,
I own a beautiful Pathos TT hybrid amplifier.
Due it has only 35 watts per channel, what JBL monitors or vintage speakers I would have to look for?

    JBL loudspeakers

You need efficiency and power to keep control of the large JBL 15" etc...
I will try to get a cabinet with smaller drivers to start and see how your amp keep control on large driver.
The speakers size matters but you low power may not be enough for large drivers.
Try to get the most efficient cabinet that you place in your home. This may reduce the frequencies ranges but the sound should be good and punchy.

Best JBL 's for your amp

I guess L100, 4312, 4311 can fit. I was using Revox A720 preamp and A722 power amp which only 40W/ch on my 4311B. Of cause the sound is not very powerful but it is very enjoyable in terms of musical. I also got a pair of 4301B. It is a 8" woofer but it is not easy to drive than 4311b!!

    Hi Ricklam,
I also own a pair of 4301B and Spendor SP1/2R.
The Spendors sounds beautiful but too soft. The 4301B sounds different, more punch and life. So I´m looking for a more powerful JBL´s. I´m considering a pair of L112 but, I think they need a lot of watts.
What are the differences between 4301 and 4311 sound?
Should be 4312 better than 4311?

    Regards.

    JBL

The woofer of 4301B needs more power to get control than 4311B's 12" woofer. They sound very close but 4311 with more detail in mid range.
The original 4312 and 4311 should be the same but only different in layout.

4311 is the pro version of L100, both with boomy bass, forward midrange, and rolled-off highs.

    That's not what 4301 is.

Use "Search" to get some facts if what you want is high fidelity....

Something really simple like a 4425 or 4430 would work okay.

The 4313 would be another one.

For High Fidelity I´ve got the Spendors yet.
I´m looking for speakers that make me feel alive.
Amplifier´s manufacturer recommends high efficiency speakers over 88dB. I guess 4313 are 89dB, and 44xx are difficult to drive due size woofers.
What is the sound difference between 4311/12 and 4301?

If you want a JBL that is a still a Control Monitor and has a tailored response like a 4311 but with a more extended high frequency response and a smoother midrange look into the 4312A that incorporates the 035ti tweeter and 104h midrange.

Sounds like you have a handle on the situation...

I agree with Rob's 4312A suggestion as well as L110s or 4313Bs and the Ti Series.

Do forgive me but that's the wrong question in my experience.

I would ask what is the best amp for my JBL's.

And of course, what's the best JBL's for my room.

Well the L100/4311 probably introduced more people to JBL than any other speaker they ever made. They are still doing that today and are still the most recognized JBL out there. A lot of people like them warts and all. I agree with you in that it wouldn't be my first choice but then it's not my choice.

    Speakers

    Hi Tweeter,

I have an old luxman amp SQ-38FD it has 30W I tried 4425's, but I love the performance Series ie PS1400+PT800 you dont need a lot of amps because the PS1400 is active and the inbuilt crossover to the PT800 is 130hz.

Your amp therefore is only powering the PT800.

    regards

    Best JBLs For My Amp

If I'v read your posts correctly you already have a pair of JBL 4301b. I have a pair of 4301b in my second system in a small room, they are wall mounted on heavy duty JBL pro mounts. To say the least I'm very happy with their performance. Like many JBLs they thrive on lots of clean power, I'm powering mine with a Yamaha MX-2000 amp (140x2 watts). I'd go for another amp with more power, you already have some terrific JBL speakers that will be fine in medium to smaller sized rooms and they can come very close in performance to JBLs with 10" and 12" woofers.
