    116H dust caps

Iīm going to re-foam two 116Hīs.
Should I need to remove dust caps and insert shims into voice coils gap to allow cones centering? Itīs a shame.
Itīs a step to follow in the instructions manual kit. Otherwise there are others that donīt. Iīm in doubt.

    Re-foaming

Hi, When I re-foam, I use kits from Rick Cobb. He supplies a CD with a test tone. When you glue the foam onto the frame, you connect the speaker up to an amp and run the tone. You could also use a signal generator to do the same job. Most of the time I dont even use the test tone. If you are careful and dont pull the cone to the side you will be ok. I have done this many times and never hud a cone rub yet. The only time I use shim's is when I do a full recone.
