Emmylou Harris and The Hot Band Playing Now

Just finished Last Date (live) and now I'm listening to Cimarron and could go on all night with six more of her Lps. What a voice she has, the Hot Band is tight, LP is perfectly recorded/mastered, no slop here. I'm not the biggest fan of country music but she is HOT no matter how you want to label her. Have to admit my 4301b speakers are a perfect match. They are powered by a Yamaha MX-2000 amp, preamp is a ADCOM GFP-565, turntable a Yamaha PX-2 with Grace Ruby cartridge. This is my second system in a small room but it sounds killer cranked up with Emmylou singing sweet songs!

Or, the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

Three-years ago, she and the spyboys backed-up Buddy and Julie Miller - phenomenal set.

Last year, I was crewing Rooster Stage and she there joined Elvis Costello - T Bone Burnett "The Coward Brothers" set. She stood on Stage Left with us, behind the mains stack, by the desk in monitorworld for about a half-hour. I was her "handler", waiting for the cue to slip her through the backline into Center Stage without her tripping on cables, so I was right at her side. She is really tiny - I'd guess about 5-ft 4-iin at most - and really pretty. She was softly singing harmony to herself, waiting to go on. It was a very strange sensation to hear her, directly, so close. It was very moving - her beautiful, lilting harmony that she made-up on the fly, changed, tried again, verse after verse, one song to the next. An incredibly private moment.

I kinda hated to escort her on-stage - then she was "theirs" again...

I love Rooster Stage. Very cool things happen over there...

She's all that! Think the Ramblers were her hottest band ever (you could argue that they became "new grass revival" {I guess you could also dispute it}) unless you want to count her tour with Graham Parsons.
