    2344A vs 2344?

    I have found 2344 horns, described as 1" throats, 100 x 100 dispersion,
flared front w/flat mounting lip, 2-piece model w/ metal throat.

What is the difference in this horn and the 2344A? Will the 2344 do for a 4430 clone, or is it a totally different animal? Seller said they were different,
but they did not know how/why.

    Any info greatly appreciated.

The difference is the 2344 is in two pieces and the 2344A is molded as a single one piece horn. They are identical aside from that.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to either? Both are the same size wise and would fit in 4430/4435 speakers? Thanks for any answers, I tried to search and find info , but non explaining the differences. I am presently considering a 4430 clone, or a hybrid as I discussed with you in previous posts using 2235H 2123H and 2425H w/ 2344 horn. I just want to buy the right thing. I guess you sort of already answered that one, "They are identical aside from that".....Sorry!

    I have factory 4430s with both one-piece and two-piece 2344(A) horns.

I'm not aware that the throat is metal in the two-piece, but I will check again.

I, too, always thought the two-piece was the original, yet the tech manual calls that the "A" version:

The product data sheet, shows the same:

The origonal 2344 had a 4 bolt metal flange, and molded plastic horn. I had a pair in the early 80's....
I would opt for the "A" because the flanges didn't really fit perfectly, or line up with the throat exactly, from my experience. Although, I doubt one could measure it, I actually filed one of the brand new horn throats, so there wasn't a small discontinuity where the throat and horns bolted together.
    My two cents.
    Identical specs, otherwise.

The description does say "metal throat"......but on the other hand, I dont seem to see many of the "A" version around, maybe I had better wait.

Zilch, I have learned that the throat is metal on these, I assume the horn part is made of the same plastic materials in both materials? If so, I think I will go for these unless you or someone reall thinks I should wait for an "A" model?

Thanks for your time on this small matter,
PS....nevermind, looking closley at the spec sheets you linked to, I see they are both made of the same stuff.
