From what I know of Sherman's actions*, they were totally repugnant ( war crimes ?? ).

Which doesn't prevent this from being a rare survivor book, cannot find another online.

I don't spend much on bikes or computers ...

    .
was dinging around the thrift yesterday and found a promising desktop computer. Have been surviving on a refurb HP laptop for about a year ,,, not bad, but not great. My super desktop lost it's PS and I just haven't gotten around to getting it back up.

So this Acer had OK specs and looked fine & unopened (Acer Aspire Desktop, 7th Gen Intel Core i3-7100, 3.9GHz ,8GB DDR4, 1TB HDD, Windows 10 Home) , so I gambled (less than 10 ?) on it.

    https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Desktop-.../dp/B071DM6TWM

But I'm on bike. , don't really want to drive back the next day just to pickup a box. Sooo , with a big ikea bag .. I bungied it to the rear rack. The bike is a touring specific model and made to carry weight. Never really noticed it on the homeward trip.

Anyway ,,,, it powers up and W10 starts, will prolly migrate from the laptop when weather downturns and I'm stuck inside.

so a week later ... I have migrated over to the Acer from the laptop with a big speed improvement- it runs at twice the clock speed as the LT. (and much less fan noise) ... loaded up the HD and it still has 600GB free.

W10 was stuck at the login-in screen, but I found the key combo to put it in repair mode.... so it loaded a fresh copy of W10...it's running along pretty well. Funny thing is that I bought it for <10 , came home sold some trinket for >15 and the PC was essentially free.

and on top of that ...it's the "Signature Edition" (whatever that means)

nice grab , will make you forget overpriced L100's

doubt that accordion surrounds have been replaced, they are kinda of a "lifetime" component.

somebody had a thread about cleaning up the dirty white aquaplas LF's.
Think they tried toothpaste or white liquid shoe polish.

early binding posts are soooo bad, replace with new gold 5 ways.

those are nearfield bridge monitors , but if listening at normal distances ... turn upside down.

    Hi All
    Thanks SSN21

As I crammed on these, read about surround goo running,
and to rotate occasionally. this stuff is still sticky. Luckily it
ran around tweeter. Is it worth pulling plate to facilitate xover removal?
Very scratchy L pad's. Are they really needed? Woofer works full range.
ever mod xover to cut off hf? L100 upgrade

Do the knobs pull off? Tried Haven't pulled drivers yet. Still have L36's broken down.
If on sides, woofer in or out? wouldn't woofer be more effective on the bottom if upright?
Swap out 25's with 035's ? Just asking Already hate connectors. Anybody bi amp these?

After magnified inspection, cosmetics is even better!
With these I now understand near field. Placement, sitting position,
when I found "the" spot, it made me tingle.
can't wait to integrate in listening room.

    So SSN21,
on the personal side, what system did you pack home
    from the rice paddies?
    Mine was a Garrard SL95B and KOSS PRO4 AA,s.

    Scramble The Seawolves

    [QUOTE=SEAWOLF97;424793]

The Old Man loaned me this Huey and a pilot and all the film I could carry to do a photo show for Congress (long story) ... day after this pic, it was broken & stranded in a paddy near the Cambodian border.

And people think I was crazy riding around on that nuke.

Found "Scramble The Seawolves" on PBS
Will I see you in it?
