(have ALWAYS liked little 2 way systems)
Those were the first pair of speakers I bought. Got them at the start of my sophomore year in college. They did sound good but didn't play loud enough for me on my little Technics receiver. What I really wanted was a pair of JBL L100's but I didn't have the coin for them at the time (1975). The Dynaco A25's were quite reasonably priced back in the day for the sound quality. I can't remember if they had really wood veneer or just vinyl. What finish is on yours?

    Mine are walnut veneer.
When I put power to them, both tweets are good, as is 1 LF. Opened the offending box and the leads to the LF were cut , reconnected them and the driver came back to life, BUT at a higher volume ..it POPs ! Oh well, another project.

BUT when I went back to get them, an old friend made me a offer. He had just picked up a system consisting of HK receiver, cassette deck (goey belt) , dual TT (belt drive , BUT strobe/speed control) and a pair of little M and K's.
They are sats, but sound pretty good standalone. All gear had catalogs & owners manuals

He got the deal of a lifetime , went home and tested everything . So being an old VN vet chum, he asked if I'd like the whole thing for 50 over the amount he paid. I jumped at it. With the extra cost, it was merely the deal of the year.

here's pix of the speakers. Just about perfect condition.

EXTRA: so on that day, I'm resting my sore back and GW wheels out a pair of L-26's. I scurry over to check them out.
black poly coned woofers, both LE-25's badly mashed, cabs pretty scarred, grille cloth pretty buggered up. I passed.
So today I run into the guy who did buy them. He one of these "I won't sell anything, unless I make at least $50" guys.

He didn't realize that they were some car stereo woofs (and need refoaming) . Said tweets were dead. Essentially got nothing for his money. I had to try hard to contain my amusement

They were real walnut with linen grills. Beautiful then and now.

    .
I think some eBayer is on crack ?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/181884319103?rmvSB=true

and from what I've read, these are the second version, NOT 1955.

Drug home Led Zeppelin 2 and Physical Graffiti today (vinyl, of course) ...and an AudioSource Amp Four. Good shape, powers up. We'll see tomorrow if it really works.

A friend was digging through the books. He found an autograph book. Opened it and found date of 1885. Then looks at the dedication. It was autographs of all the Silent Film stars. I can't even imagine what that is worth.

Another guy grabbed an old violin case , opened and there was the old violin and complete kit. Looked very old. he wouldn't let anyone get to take a close look.

LATER: Oh yeah, I picked up this interesting book. German-American songbook , published December 7, 1941 in Chicago -
just days before we declared war on Germany .

guess it was the buyer on crack ? Mine sound really nice, BUT the prior owner pushed them around the floor ... bottom MDF was a poor design and 1 leg is not very sturdy (just held by the glue he slopped on it). I think that a plywood second bottom (attached to the MDF) will make a sufficient base to screw the legs to.

Anybody else experience this issue ?

the living room demo system is powered by an 85wpc denon receiver and currently driving the 4311B's. I reconfigured the Denon as a pre-amp only ..outputting to the Audiosource amp. The JBL's seem to appreciate the extra power. May move the c-38 Baron's back out there and see if extra power improves them too.

GW had a big 4 channel Akai R2R yesterday ... pretty nice shape. They reduce the price by half each day. It started at $48 (so it was 48 pounds) and yesterday it was $6 ...today 3 ? Nice deal for somebody , but I ain't hauling that home

sold 2 of the "non-keeper" turntables and the "Space Expander" and at this point , I'm down peanuts on everything that's left.
(I pulled 2 tubes from the reverb, as they were the same 2 missing from the integrated amp)

    still left:
    C38's 030 load
    Fisher tube amp/pre
    Dyna tube FM stereo tuner
    big Zeneth receiver
    1 turntable

so 2 of the TT's are gone , cherry picked the records and donated the rest.
I put the receiver on CL, but got no interest, but someone who didn't have cash
    asked about trades ?

after some b & f , we settled on his preamp for the Z. I read up on it and although not a masterpiece,
it does seem competent. A HK Cite 21. (see stock pic). It is nice shape and sounded OK on headphones.
    It IS quite heavy.

He also was looking for tubes and I still have the Fisher integrated and have never put power to it.
Really interested, he offered a pristine (his words) Hafler 280XL in trade.

Anybody have experience with that amp ??
