    4343 vs 4344 vs homemade

I saw lots of review on 4343 and seems to be a collectors item.,but how about the 4344??, search this forum and not too many member talk about this, but mostly about UPGRADE fr 4343 to 4344..so is the 4344 much better??
I am thinking to get a pair of 4344 and like to know more about this speakers...
    1. when it produced ( i guess is 84-85)
    2. are they sounds good and collectable?
    3. $ when new and current market value?
    4. I already have a pair of home make speaker, see this:http://www.audioheritage.org/vbullet...ht=garage+sale
Will the 4344 better than my current home made speaker(375/2309/2310 on top and 075/2121/LE15A in the speaker the crossover are N7000 and LX5,also it have a seperate "250HZ ferquency dividing network)

    Thanks

Yes the 4344 is a much more rare than a 4343.

Most of the information is tucked away in various threads.

There maybe some particular attributes you like about your diy system. Acquire the 4344 and discover for yourself.

I could be wrong but the 4344 was destined for the Japanese market (thats where most of the production went) so you won't read much about the stock 4344 (vintage) here. Try some of the Japanese online JBL traders for details of resale value.

I have not heard the 4344, but what I have read the 4343 have a smoother response, and go deeper in frq.

If I am incorrect, please respond those of you who have heard both.

    Rolf other way around.

We virtually beaten this to death on the forums. Please try the search function or look at the reference threads.

Sorry Ian. I was thinking of the MKII version, only available in Japan.

    Oh yeah,

That one had a higher sensitivity woofer, in other words it was bass shy and it was charge-coupled. I know of one Australian owner who changed out the FE woofer for the 2235H.

Definately voiced for the Japanese market by all accounts.

    Re: 4344

I finally get my first 434X , it is an orginal 4344 and I just pick them up this morning, The orginal owner brought them in Koera and shipped to here(Toronto) 2 yrs ago, the family decided to go back to Koera tomorrow and put this for sale locally.
I check the speakers last week and finally get it for CAD 3K, fr the orginal asking price of 4K.
    http://toronto.craigslist.org/ele/381846384.html
It's in great shape and I test it at their home setup with AV amp and seems work excellent. Only a very small dent/pinsize hole on the 2122H which just on the paper cone(not on the center cone-picture will provide later and need advise on this minor repair, thinking to just use a type at the back of the cone, any suggestion is welcome) .
The family move back to Korea tomorrow and they listed this for sale on the last minutes, I can offer them a lower amount but you never know if someone will get it for a better offering price....I actually searching a 434X model locally for last few years but it is hard to find one here. Most of them located in US and shipping/tax (14%) just too much.
I am so happy with this purchase and I empty my back a/c for this but I believe I make a right decision.
    Will post more pic later....

Well done! If you got them for $3K, that's a good price. Congratulations.

Congratulations. If the speakers are in decent shape at all, it sounds like you got a great deal. Should you ever decide they're not for you, I doubt you'll ever have trouble recouping your investment. When you get a chance post some pictures of your new babies.
