    Reconing 2202H?

Hi! Forgive me if this question has been asked before. I'm trying to have a look at the voice coil of a 2202H midrange and I can't work out how to get into it. There are no screws on the back of it. Any ideas?

A tad longer answer would be - I think they are hold together by the power of the magnet (and probably glue). So demagnetization would be theoretically the only way, and later recharging. I've never seen that recommended on this site.

If you're just curious, or a reconing is predictable/required, you can have two looks or three at a recone kit.

Thanks for the replies. I assume that this applies for similar speakers? I've pulled apart a MR822 and a MR825 and the speaker components are the same with no way in.

The speaker is scratching, so I was hoping to have a look inside and clean up all the foam residue that has probably clogged it up.

You could always cut open the coil cap and redo it with a slightly larger cap as an option. You will only see the one side but you could then clean out what you can and get the rest of the loose foam out of the driver and pole piece vent.
