I'll be in California next week...

I'll be in Rancho Cucamonga, Temecula and Santa Anna next week on business.

Any advice from those in the area on what to visit during my off hours?

I live in the hills over Santa Ana. Both Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm are close by along with several themed dinner places (e.g., Midevil Times). Angel Stadium and the Pond (Mighty Ducks)are also close. The beach is about 10-15 miles.

Depending on when you will be here, you could even attend one of my Garden Railroad open houses (Aug 11-12, Aug 25-26). (edit: Oh, I see, it's next week. In that case you're welcome to come by and take a look and if you like, listen to some JBLs.)

Any reccomendations for dinner are welcome. As well as simple sights to see and/or walk around.

I'm unsure what free time I will have as I will be executing three Quality Management Systems audits on three vendors while I'm in California. Any free time I might have will likely be in the evenings.

Wow, a very kind gesture; and an option I may exercise.

I've loved trains and model railroads since I was a kid (grandpa had a nice set up in his attic that we would play with for hours).

Old Town Orange has nice restaurants in a quaint environment and is just north of Santa Ana (Citrus Cafe is good and if you like Cuban food, there is an authentic Cuban restaurant to name a couple).

If you came here, we have a very nice steak house on the hill with a great view of Orange County and the sunset we could enjoy together. You can bring your favorite disk too.

Check out Victoria Gardens, and the Ontario Mills Mall area. Lots of nice new restaurants.
