I saw Steely Dan back in 2003 when they were touring Everything Must Go. I made sure I had seats in the sweet spot down front, right in the middle (at the Gorge outdoor amphitheater in Washington.) The band sounded great and played all the old favorites. 'Twas a dream come true.

Pollstar.com is a good way to keep track of who is touring your area.

I saw Steely Dan in 2003 in Chicago and 2006 in St. Louis with Michael McDonald. The St. Louis show was very cool. They played much more of the early stuff.... the real treat was "Pretzel Logic" the way they used do it it with MM. It's my understanding St. Louis was the only city on the entire tour that they performed "Pretzel Logic". Maybe one of MM's old buddys from St. Louis put in a special request?? I proudly wear my Steely Dan "100% old school" T-shirt.

And for those of you that want a *quality* retrospective of their 1972-1980 stuff, (arguably, their prime), pick up the double-CD "Showbiz Kids", with 33 tunes on it. It was digitally remastered by Roger Nichols, (their famed engineer), and the sonic quality is excellent!

Their studio guitarist on Reelin in the Years and others was Elliott Randall, who lived in my town for awhile and is a friend. Local guitar legend Jim Miller flew Elliott back last year for a gig in town with some all-stars, and they smoked!

    Right on....

I saw the NY Rock and Soul Review tour and a few Dan shows over the past 10 years. They have to be one of the tightest and best sounding bands out there.

Nice to see all the "Dan Fans" ...

I play tenor sax in an old fart band, and SD is a favorite of ours. Here is our way of enjoying what they made for us:

Pretzel Logic, performed by Buffalo Theory
