Bass Response Question for Audio Experts

Attached is a diagram of my basement and the location of two L96's. The basement is unfinished and the system sounds fantastic, but the bass sounds dramatically different while standing in different parts of the space, as indicated on the picture.

    Why is this?

    Thanks.

    simple answer

---bass loading near to that corner. It will always be 'stronger' near to room boundaries. The important thing is: is it balanced at your listening position?
