I'm just a bystander but your link goes to a site that says 1.4. It also says it uses an adaptor which means it doesn't fit anything without an adapter and with an adapter it fits what the adapter fits. But that might just be that year. I'm no Altec expert but there some 511(x) horns with bolt on adapters that have 1.4 inch throats. Surprised me.

    look closer

the link goes to a *whole catalog* which has both the 1.4 and 1 inch exit drivers ( and many pages ). Did you read the catalog first??

Do you know the difference between the sizes??

Again read before you post. it is common sense.

If I came back with as much attitude as you're giving off this would escalate quickly. Whatever it's really about, just come out with it. I'll try to stay away from anything with your name on it unless I have a real interest. I don't need this. I'm tempted to go on but restraint is called for.

The page in the linked catalog that lists the drivers and horns is indeed confusing, as both 1" and 1.4" drivers and horns are listed with no distinction made that they are in different families.

The 32A has a 1" throat. It was originally a Western Electric design cast in aluminum. Altec also made it for many years, from both aluminum and plastic. The 32B may have been the plastic version.

Is 32A a good sounding horn - compare to 811b or 511 - which sound better crossing at 1500. Thanks.

If everybody is through yelling and shouting I can see now that it is a 1 inch throat but only because I see it listed in a system with a driver that I know to be a 1 inch driver. Does it actually say anywhere that it's a 1 inch throat or do you just have to get there like I did? And I swear it wasn't me that hit the dog. How rare are 511E? I wonder how that would be on a 2435. Beat the hell out of cutting and welding (and filing and sanding) just to find out.

    Uncommon, but not rare.
