I have a pair of Laguna's that still sound great. My first question is dial on back at what setting should these be played and second question is what is realistic value of these? The only thing ever done to these was fabric grill on front was replaced.

RE; your questions .

(a) I don't know where the attenuator of the crossover is best adjusted to . Typically, it's a decision of personal preference .

(b) Value ? ; As Steve Schell has pointed out . The Japanese will typically foot the bill to have these rarities shipped to their island . ( Hopefully when you recovered the grills, it was in a similar style of grill cloth . )

I "see" ,,, these Malibus in a similar light as the DD66000 . They are a "statement speaker" ( at least visually ) . See the present & past juxtaposed .

If I was of the means / I'd buy em / then gut them / & then retrofit into each ; 2, ME150H(s), along with an Altec 288-8K on a 511E / & then go for this great Danish "look" .

And mebbe the folks back then knew the difference between "measureable" and "usable" response. If you browse the other brands' ads of the day, it's obviously an industry-wide practice, and AES standards weren't around.

Or mebbe with no web forums to get eddicated at, they just blissfully believed they heard 22K from their systems.

WHEN PEOPLE SIT DOWN IN MY LIVING ROOM AND YOU HEAR OVER 35 YEAR OLD EQUIPMENT THAT CAN KICK YOU IN THE CHEST WHEN ITS CRANKED.
