    CORNER SPEAKERS OR NORMAL SPEAKERS?

    Hi my name is britishbulldog,
I'am new to the site and would like to build either a set of corner horn speakers or normal speakers to suite a class A 30 watts a channel amp.
The music choice varies from Eva cassidy-John Mayer-Led zepplin-alica keys-Dina krall-Norah jones to say a few.

The room in question is 18ft long x 11.6'' wide x 8ft high cieling.

    Can anyone help me please

    Hi Bull,
30 watts class A and the jbl 4333a's on uk ebay would knock your socks off, and put a head back on a pint of bitter.
    Rich.

    Budget, BBD, budget.

None of that other stuff is very relevant to "What to build" by comparison

The choice between direct radiator and horn systems is a basic one that should be made at the outset. Horns are the path less chosen, due in part to size, cost, difficulty of construction, availability of information, time alignment issues and a few other things.

My choice for the past 15 years or so has been to pursue horns with zeal, as I find that the dynamics, low distortion and overall effortlessness of their sound provides a lifelike listening experience that I have not found with direct radiators. Others will have a different opinion, as with all things audio.

The artists you mentioned all sound very good on my horn system... well, no Alicia Keys as yet.

If you do move in the direction of horns, my advice would be to go all the way with a fully front horn loaded rather than a hybrid system. Lots more trouble, but proportionally greater rewards as well.
