    TAD MODEL-1 REFERENCE MONITOR

    Hello

Does someone had any experience with Tad model 1 reference monitor and how does it sound compared to the 250Ti and 4343 .

    Regards

    Gerard

    Hi, Gerard...

I personally have not, but believe Widget has in his movings about. I think he was quite impressed with the Model-1 (shown), but we need to get his review.

I know he quite liked the newer "Reference One" at CES this year - but that is another story...

I have heard them two or three times. In my opinion they are among the very best speakers ever produced.

Let me use a car analogy.

I'd say the 4343 is like a late 60's Camero Z28... incredibly exhilarating performance and a tough muscular look, but perhaps not the ultimate statement in absolute refinement when it comes to neutrality, imaging, and refined sound.

I'd suggest that the 250Ti is like a late model Corvette. It also offers exhilarating performance, though it is better balanced and offers better imaging and an over all more refined performance and look.

I'd suggest the TAD Model One like the Astin Martin V12 Vanquish offers ultimate performance, grace, refinement, and elegance at an extremely high price point, but if you can afford it... it is well worth it.

Thanks Juergen. I almost added the Enzo-Everest comparison to the list... but since Gerard hadn't asked I decided not to.... but I see you got my drift.

I guess the point is... no one of these cars is a Yugo (Yugoslavian built Fiat) and none of the speakers is a Bose. They all have something else to offer and they are all worthy of praise.

I must confess to liking the Aston. Sharp, but classy.

    Good analogies,

I was perhaps too fast. There are perhaps still better cars.

I dunno, looks more like some of that Altec Voice of the Theater stuff, maybe a JBL 2395 ontop?
