    speaker weight

    does anybody know the weight of a D130?

    In the later catalogs the actual driver weight is given... I'd guess the D130 would weigh about the same as a K130... they are listed at 15.5lbs.

    you are right Widget.
    I took the 23lbs from an old brochure, wondering why it's so heavy.
    My K130, which is very similar in look and construction only weights about 7,5kg. Maybe that's the real shipping weight incl. the shipping box? (a very heavy box )

    Many years ago, we (JBL, that is) shipped raw speakers by mounting them to 1/4" plywood squares (16" x 16" with T-nuts), and then putting that whole assembly into the cardboard.
    box.

    The whole thing was pretty heavy.
