At any given moment, there are more guests on the site than members. I'm surprised by the nonmember traffic volume.

I registered as a member some time before my "current" registration date, but I was such an infrequent visitor that at some point I lost my password and couldn't get back on. When I stumbled across it one day, I tried to log in a couldn't. Don was kind enough to reactivate my membership using my old screen name but with a new password.

Apparently anything I posted, which wasn't much, maybe three or four L100 posts, disappeared with the version of the forum under which I first registered.

I'm surprised by the number of people who rarely or never post but who checkin in weekly or more often. It's quite a few.

As a forum gets larger, the number of members becomes meaningless, I think. Over at AVS we're closing in on 400,000, and I'll bet 60% or more of 'em haven't posted in years. I seem to see the same guys on every forum I visit over there.

We should move past the numbers, although Rolf it still bugs me to see all the birthdays for people who haven't been around in years. I thought about starting a thread called "It's JuanCarlosE250's birthday. Who the F$%# is he?" But I didn't. Bandwidth, you know.

On another forum I visit, they will check the membership who havent accessed the forum, and after two years they delete the members who havent even been on the site. This could be a thought for consideration, I mean, if someones is registered but doesnt post but comes in to read, thats fine, Im pretty sure we have a lot of names in the member list with peoiple who havent even looked in here in I dont know how long.

And, of course, as Ti points out, we have how many guests reading at any given time? That wont change, and it doesnt bother me either.

AFAIC, all of these audio forums, and there are a few, have become the audio magazines of the 21st century. Now all we have to do, is get audio companies to send us gear and speakers and cables to evaluate, and we can do writeups, and reveiws, then, we can charge a subscription fee, and actually BE a well read magazine. Maybe even have paid adverstisements!

But, seriously, imagine an audio forum, one where you could actually talk ( post ) to the reveiwer and ask questions about the reveiw, and other things?

There could be a good buisiness in there somewhere.

Personally I'd prefer a nice bratwurst at a friendly biergartten during the summer in Bavaria or Austria, but I have been known to eat a dog or two.

But yesterday we had lentil soup. It can be very squawky.
The dictionary does not show this word, I tried to be on topic.

Yes, maybe. But, as somebody said: "Let the mod's decide". If they, and Don doesnt see this as a need, why should I bother.

We seem to have three threads here.

I have no interest in discussing flatulence.

I agree, ketchup has no business being on a hot dog.

...and on to the original topic of the thread.

I have no interest in deleting people who may have lost interest in our circular discussions about horns vs. domes and vintage vs. contemporary and Altec vs. JBL and tubes, wire, aluminum, titanium, etc. etc... it does get tedious.

...and then every now and again an Everest DD66000 comes along or a member presents his latest construction project and it can be interesting.

I see no reason to delete anyone's account for lack of participation.
