At any given moment, there are more guests on the site than members. I'm surprised by the nonmember traffic volume.
I registered as a member some time before my "current" registration date, but I was such an infrequent visitor that at some point I lost my password and couldn't get back on. When I stumbled across it one day, I tried to log in a couldn't. Don was kind enough to reactivate my membership using my old screen name but with a new password.
Apparently anything I posted, which wasn't much, maybe three or four L100 posts, disappeared with the version of the forum under which I first registered.
I'm surprised by the number of people who rarely or never post but who checkin in weekly or more often. It's quite a few.
As a forum gets larger, the number of members becomes meaningless, I think. Over at AVS we're closing in on 400,000, and I'll bet 60% or more of 'em haven't posted in years. I seem to see the same guys on every forum I visit over there.
We should move past the numbers, although Rolf it still bugs me to see all the birthdays for people who haven't been around in years. I thought about starting a thread called "It's JuanCarlosE250's birthday. Who the F$%# is he?" But I didn't. Bandwidth, you know.
