    looky What I Just Got

JBL W15GTI 15" DVC SUBWOOFER 60th Anniversary Edition.

60th anniversary edition. Used in Team JBL Demo Car, less than 3 hrs on them not even broken in yet.

Going to use these (2) in my HT subwoofer enclosures. I will post pictures of the install, and I will also be adding more cabinet reinforcing. Should have them by the weekend, and I'll be cracking the plaster.
Going to run the Adcom GFA-5802 at a three ohm load should be very interesting to see, and hear that out come. Power per channel ??????? (700 to 750?)

Going to be an exciting day when these babies are fired up. Like a kid in a kandy/JBL store.

Should be a Holy Bat Crap experience Bat Man!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about hearing them but your probably feel that 20 cycle frequency hitting you in the seat of your chair. Things in your office might start to rattle and move across the desk top. Just tell your co-workers, it's Jeff In AZ.

    W15GTI-MKII

They are here, can't lift them out of the box though until the neighbor gets home. Still recovering from back surgery. Play time coming soon.

As is the Sub1500 and several other current JBL's that use the rubber-type surrounds.

    JBL 4645,
To what are you referring too, and placement? Are you talking about a rear sealing gasket. No illustrations show what you are talking about.

    Talking Loaded

Well after a half day of working on these babies, they are in and running. Ended up going with the first simulation using one passive. Could not wait for second got a little to anxious. The simulation was run by a fellow forum member and I thank you again for the help.
The cabinets total area is 5.36 cubic feet before subtracting the area the driver takes up, and the passive. I ended up using 75 grams on the rear of the passive for tunning. These cabinets were done originally with a 1.5" x 1.5" vertical brace, 1" thick MDF, and a 2" cleat from front to back on all four corners. With this bracing I was still getting too much top panel flexing, so I did a cross brace tie in with the top panel, and the vertical brace to help minimize, or put a halt to this issue before installing the W15GTI-MKII's.
This extra step has seemed to help a lot with curing the flexing issue, still getting some vibration on the top side, but it is very minimal. (acceptable)
Finish on the cabinets is Oak Wood Grain Formica, looks great, and is stain resistant.
I tried doing the over stuff theory to fake out the driver, but this seemed to hinder the LF output, so I went back to the three wall insulation application. Overall I would say I'm satisfied with the results, woofers are still breaking in, but I am contemplating the second passive, or going to an 8 cubic foot box. I think the hardest part of the 8 cubic foot cabinet is getting it past the wife. I think she will notice a difference in the size of the end tables.

    Passive part no: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=295-194

See pics for the project fun.
Amp running them is a Adcom GFA-5802 @ a 3ohm load per channel. So far so good no thermal issues, and plenty of volume!!!!!!!!!! Tight, and QWIK!!!!!!!

Thank you berrrrrrry much. They sound pretty awesome also, little more fine tunning and I'll think we'll have it whipped! (Thanx to a fellow LH member)

These should be the last sub drivers I ever purchase for the HT room. I think Nirvana is around the corner..........
