    what woofer in B-380?

Does anyone know the woofer model used in the sub woofer B-380. I seem to recall that it was a 15 inch 136H/2235. I have a B-460 and a friend wants to make a smaller version. He has 166s with 122s so I don't think using the 121 from the L-212 cube will accomplish much.

If you were asking about swapping-in a different LF into the L166, while most here aren't big fans of these maneuvers , I was thinking the 128H (my favorite of the 12-in line...) could be considered. I LOVE what it brought to my 4312's , but found this on the L166 tech sheet:

Maybe Giskard knows why it is "only as last resort"...

    smaller sub

    Thanks!

No he wasn't going to switch out the 122as he just wanted a separate sub for theater surround. BTW in the nothing better to do category I switched the 122a in a pair of L-65s to 128s from L-150s and thought it did not sound better. Not really fair comparison since they are in a shop on a shelf. Settle down, I know the crossovers/ cabinet tuning/ speaker placement have effect.

Well ok, I guess I'll refrain from harping on the merits of the 121, especially when used in multiples.

Yeah, the response of the 128H-1 is "all wrong" for the L166 and L166A filters. It's all fixable though.

IIRC, the 128H has too high broadband efficiency, too much top end and not enough bottom end, to be substituted for a 122A... right?

(Note, that all of these things change, when you add the 10 gram mass ring, to take the mass from 90 grams (128H) to 100 grams (122A), total moving mass... )

    Regards,
    Gordon.
