Why aren't you just buying LE14H-3 new?

There were some H-1s on eBay recently. Recone kits are available.

[Well, they haven't been discontinued, is what.... ]

They are different drivers. Definately not a 1 to 1 exchange. The 2217 is more efficient and has a higher FS. You would be better off with Le-14H-3 if you can get them.

    - Forget them, they are SR ( sound reinforcement ) woofers with stiffer compliances ( meaning too high an Fs / "free air resonance " ) .
    - They also lack an aquaplas treament to the cone resulting in cones that are too light weight for the intended purpose ( used within a L250 )

    - You really haven't tried hard enough. Just buy le14h-3(s) new from Harman.
    - Giskard has related that Greg Timbers says they are a drop-in replacement for the le14h-1. That is info you can take to the bank .

    - They don't go low enough, are too high in sensitivety, & they have the wrong voicing or bass-texture for home HiFi usage .

    Is there a Le 14A

    http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-17...3D110095895973

I also found this site as a last resort for some items. I called to make sure the place was still in business.

Thanks I bought my 2344a biradial horns from jammin jersey to years ago. I see a lot of le14-a on ebay, I dont want those, If I am going to spend my money I would hope to buy a pair of le14h-1 or le14h-3. Le14-a is a nice woofer But the L250 or the le14h-1 has the new technology [ SFG ] better power etc. I want to keep the same technology of drivers that was design for that speaker to stay in that speaker. le14h-1 or le14h-3

Just surfing around through eBay I ran across a pair of LE 14C's even.

I never even seen them listed on Thieles' Specs Sheets.
