Is that the paper cone that surrounds the dust cap on some speakers?

Yup, a small secondary cone, typically attached at the dust cap.

    Usually spelled "Whizzer."

    Thank you Zilch

I got a couple of EV SP12B's today along with a Harmon Kardon TA 3000X tube receiver from a cabinet pull. More eBay fodder me thinks. I spent the evening cleaning up 37+ years of dust and grime. Then fired it up and wouldnt you know, it sounds pretty good thru one of the L-100 sets.
