    Bullet Copy(JBL NOT!)

These bullets are being advertised as JBL, but they do not look like any JBL bullet driver I have seen before. I have a pair of 2402's and a pair of H's and they are not even close. Four bids so far. http://cgi.ebay.com/PAIR-OF-VINTAGE-...QQcmdZViewItem

I have a pair of cheap bullet tweeters like them...

Pyramid TW-47 2" tweeters that can be had from Parts Express for about $50.00 each!

The seller must think he is slick by removing the foilcals from the back of the drivers and claiming they are JBL stock!

    They definitely are not JBL's!!!!!

Did you notice that one of the bidder's is "billybassplace" this place sells JBL all over Ebay. I don't know if these are JBL's are not but I do know that billybassplace specializes in JBL drivers.

Both of you are correct. I tried to contact the high bidder but I believe that ebay blocked me. I didn't have any luck reporting this auction either. Probably should sick the "DOG" on him. http://www.audio-warehouse.com/web/mdl/TW47/detail.asp

Ignoring the fact that the tweeters aren't JBL, has anyone had any experience with the Pyramid tweeters. They look almost as cool and are definitely cheaper than real 075s. Are they good enough to use until a real set of JBL bullet tweeters shows up at Goodwill or I win the lottery?

This is added to the auction:

Q: Hi, just wanted to let you know that the tweeters your auctioning are NOT JBL, more like Pyle available from parts Express. JBL NOT.
    Feb-20-07

A: Since I can't verify these drivers I've cancelled all existing bids but at this late time I can't cancel the auction or modify the description. Since it must go to completion, IF YOU BID FROM THIS POINT YOU TAKE THE RISK THAT THESE ARE NOT JBL DRIVERS!! I will not cancel further bids so caveat emptor.

makes you kind of wonder why billybassplace bidded on them, surely they had to know they weren't JBL and to think I was going to buy a set of tweeters from them.

Just like any other copy, not exactly like the original, but still a good sounding tweeter IMO, with possibly a little more top end than the JBL.

On a budget also consider the copies (bullet and slot) from selenium, the older models had an all aluminum housing where the newer ones are plastic. I have and use a couple pair of the ST320 slot tweeters with aluminum housings, for the price of admission i'm very pleased.

Here, IMHO, are the best bullet copies ever made. Not my auction, no affilliation and all that. I'm not positive but what these are actually JBL and just rebranded Emilar.

Copying a bullet makes NO sense other than to sell them cheaply.

[Unless it's in brass, of course.... ]

Wow! A 500watt bullet for $32!!! Complete with mylar cap!!

I need to get a couple just to see what happens when they see 500watts... I expect if I actually gave them a quick burst of 500Watts I wouldn't even have to hear them for more than a second or two.

Now come on, Zilch. At that price you can afford to get dozens, and splay them in all directions, to get rid of the beaming characteristics...

I actually saw the band Traffic back in the day, and whoever they were using for sound had a big JBL system. On each side they had a framework, (like an erector set), built up above the mains, with about eight 2402's on each side, set up in an array pattern. As far as I can remember, they sounded pretty good that way.
