    Help, wanted pair 14' LE14h(-1 or 3 ) or 1400 .

    (I would to build DMS1 style. I have two 2217h basket+motor, and 2235h pair. Can I to build LE14 with 2235h motor in 2217 chassis ?)

    (A) DMS1
    - Why bother with the DMS1 ? It's a failure as far as being a viable MTM design ( this is acknowledged by those inside JBL and reported here sometime ago ).

    - IMO, It needs a 800 hz ( or less ) crossover point to work properly and its' small waveguide horn won't come anywhere close to supporting that frequency ( or so I'm told since I don't have one here ) .

    (B) Creating a le14h-1 from a 2217/2235 marriage of assembly parts ?
    - Don't know ! I doubt it due to the 2 woofers being designed about 15 years apart.
    - But even if the dimensions work out / buying le14-1 recones is going to kill the affordability of such an idea .
    - ( I believe you'd have better luck marrying a 2217h basket onto a 2227H magnetic assembly. This appears to be the genesis of the 1400H. Measure the bolt hole patterns on your basket case 2217s and then compare to a 2227 in need of a recone )
    - It'll be cheaper to just buy original le14h-3(s) or eBay some type 1(s) .

My actual test with single a 2235h + 2332/2430h with the DSC280 /DMS1 preset, the result is very conclusive and higher than 4430/4343. I thought of the 2235 in 2217, because 2235 motor seems identical to the LE14H

    - The magnetic assembly for the LE14H-3 appears to my eyes to be from the 2225H.

    - But as I keep saying, building the LE14H-3 from scavenged parts is not going to be an economical approach to fulfilling your quest for a 80s' style woofer .
    - Have you priced out recone kits ?

I have a pair of LE1400H and a pair of 1401ND, as far as I've understood they share basket but different magnetic Assembly.

Do you think they still could be used in the same cabinet (together With 2451, to it would be similar to DMS1) I know It's probably better to get two pair of one of them, but both speakers are quite hard to find..

Why not use a single driver? (and a bigger horn)

Because I would like more than what a single 14 will give
