if you haven' t got enough yet

so here is mine: (just another pile of junk) I stick to the room related decsription.

    Living room: no stereo allowed!

    Music room (under roof):

Speakers: Karlson enclosures loaded with 15” Audax or Altec 515

mid: Oris 150, JBL 2360 with TAD or 2445 JBL, brass Grammophone horns for the looks, mostly Coral full range (easy listening !!)

tweet: varies! (B&C, Fane, Audax, ESS AMT, Coral, Fostex, Focal, JBL, etc.)

subwoofs : some JBL 2245s and Fostex L569 waiting for me to build a big enough box, so no real subs yet

    Preamp: Accuphase C 222, Audio Research L 2

Amps homebrew: LC-audio Millenium amp, Elektor LFA kit, Pass Aleph 5

Amps bought: Krell KSA 50, Mitsubishi DA 30, Telefunken V 69/101 (to be restored), T-amp 2024 digital amp, subwoof EP 2500

Behringer electronic crossovers CX 2300, DXC 2496

    Sony ES CD-player

    Tape: Nakamichi, Akai, BASF

    2 Sony DAT recorders + 1 Pioneer

Analog record player : leaves much to be desired!

Bedroom: I like it quiet in my sleep

    Guest rooms: What guests ?

Kitchen: Our children sing for us!

Workshop: Hitachi and BASF components with Electro Voice Pro 12B coax speakers

Basement: A real lot of stuff (like for example pair of JBL 4560 , pair of Seeburg 2x 15” Disco speakers, German Kinoton Set, etc., etc.)

Bathroom: too small for Hifi !

Childrens playroom: Saba console + JBL control one !

Hallway: “What you need to get in and out of the house” true !

Second music room (required after 9 pm or after argument with wifey):

Non-fancy electronic components , speakers: Audax Pro 38, Altec 604E in open baffles, maybe soon some more nice speakers

Future projects: JBL 4343 (got the components in the shelf already but still need a crossover), 2nd is a Project-May-ish design using 4 E145 + TAD 4001 mid horn

    That's it

    60 watt Sony receiver

    Rane AC23 electronic x-over

    50 watt / ch Alesis RA100 amp

    430 w/ ch Adcom GFA-1 amp

Oh, and not one, but two of these: (Remember, this is ONE speaker....)

That would be twelve 15" woofers. Some will be 400w JBL 2225's, and the others will be Altec 515's (probably with the newer G-series cones). Either eight JBL's and four 515's, or four JBL's and eight 515's. Whichever sounds better. I'm stocking up on drivers right now. And for the moment, a pair of 15 cell Altec 1505B horns with single 288's on top.

Each speaker with wings will stand just over 10 feet tall and 12 feet wide.

And they're in my 4 car garage.

I need one or two more amps, some 2405 slots, a rack mount mixer.........
............and that's about it. Maybe a new keyboard and one more guitar.

    And some Marshall amps.

    Well....... maybe two more guitars.................

    It never ends does it?

    You are one sick dude!!!!

Based on placement I'm guessing the ones you listen to are the 4343's, yes?

Do you like those better than the LSR 32's?

    Sickness

Hi David, sorry about the mediocre quality of the pictures, I had to get them all in one room for the photos as soon as she'd left for work . That was hard work! I have a small music room about 15' x 13' and 8' high so it's a case of listening to one pair for a few weeks then changing. Unfortunately it's not really large enough to let the 4341s or L200As breathe properly, hence the majority of "bookshelf" JBLs. Anyway, to answer your question, personally I prefer the vintage gear, i'm sure the LSRs measure much better but they are very "dry" low down if you know what I mean. IMHO I would rate the mid frequencies as probably the best I have heard. Of all the speakers I have my favourites are the L166As or the L110s, but just in case I ever move somewhere larger I will hang on to the 4341s and L200s!! You're right, it is an illness.

I agree with everything you say about the LSR's and the vintage speakers. What is that with the 122A (looks like), the LE5 and 077--a home-brew Jubal?

Nice collection. (But that furtiveness--I don't know!)

    Home brew

Yes, it is a home brew, I knew the 122A would work in that cab like the L166 and I love the 077 even from 6500hz up (I know that's not too popular here) as it's nice and raspy! I have to go out now so I will elaborate tommorrow and post more pics. Cheers, Tony.

    Altec Idea (6041) with Extrapunch

    Hi,
my project, codename species 8472, with iconicspeakers is getting quite excellent.
I invested quite heavy in real mearsurement equipment, Bruel & Kjaer, after getting nuts with digital plastic and software (simulations are ).
Using new Iconic speakers 2 Woofers, 1 compound (Coaxial) as Mid/High. The sound is what I was looking for! Something real serious!
Very efficient, 1 Watt is real loud! The crossover is still not perfect but is yet a beta release!
