Women Of Ireland - Jeff Beck, Tal Wilkenfield, Lizzie Ball

From Crossroads, a very gentle song.

The sister duo covers the brother duo...

...and she does it with a plain lap steel.

That's a pretty mean slide guitar she's playing there. She makes it look so easy

You need to see them. They still play small venues and they are just great live! I never miss them.

There is a lot of Larkin Poe in concert on YouTube, but I like this web piece better. There is a great interview earlier in the show; after that, for the song of which I speak skip to 23:40. As Al Jolson famously said, "Aw, you ain't heard nothin' yet!"

    Hey Krunchy

How have you been. They hit NYC and still playing small venues. Last time was this past October at the Bowery Ballroom. Great place to see a band like them.

Hi Rob, been ok thank you, how about your self, hope all is good on your end my friend.
Great pictures man btw, looks like a perfect venue for them. I like small venues these days, there are very few acts
I will go see in arenas (noce come to mind, not even the who), done with that phase.
As your pictures perfectly illustrate, its a concert (& by the looks of it you had a good spot) not a light show ,
it seemed to me like the music was/has been taken second billing to the light show.
Well I'm hooked! great straight ahead rock.
I'll keep an eye out for them, definitely would like to see them live.

The "O" or double O or triple O Concert series have smaller bodies and more balanced tone; the Dreadnaughts sound to me like two distinct instruments at the same time, broadening the stage presence of a single accompanist. I could say impact over nuance, but it is more complicated than that. No question the volume and power of the Dreadnaught are intoxicating; also no question the OO records better. All generalizations, of course. I'll never complain about Tony Rice playing Clarence White's Martin, but there is another path and here are two superb examples of it. Both Cindy and the wood are sounding amazing.

These links have audio and title cards only. No visual distractions. It's YouTube so the second track will play after another ad if you don't do anything.

Thanks very much for the youtube links for Cindy Combs! A bit of a Gibson acoustic freak myself, but that little Martin sounds so very sweet. Love the Martin solos!
