Subwoofer good or not?

I am looking at buying a JBL DS-10 200watt subwoofer. I don't see a lot of these so I don't know if it is good or not. If I could please get some opinions and reviews that would be great.

I was thinking likewise, until I sorted-out the phasing conflict between my cabinets. Now corrected, there is absolutely no need for subwoofers - and I'm running nothing as elaborate as you (or your dad's...) systems. The frequency balance I've now achieved with flat EQ is most incredible.

I'd first do some checking and make sure you've got the phasing sorted-out - supportive/additive rather than cancelling. You might be pleasantly surprised.
