    ME150H detailed Information

    Here I will post some informations regarding the ME150H which uses the same magnet and frame than the 2227H.

    Top plate thickness = ~13mm
    Extented pole piece thickness = 26mm
    Magnet thickness = 22mm
    Magnet diameter = 223mm

    Here one can easily see that the frame structure of this SVG driver is completely different than the 2225/2235 structure.
    The pic shows the 2227 winding which is sitting much "deeper" than a 2235 winding.

    BTW:
    Unbelievable how someone can burn a 2227 coil this way

    ME150H cone kit

    Front and back of the cone is aquaplased.

    Very interesting is that the front of the foam is also aquaplased. The back of the foam is not aquaplased.

    The tinsel lead fixation is different also.

    Winding length is ~29mm which results in an Xmax of +-8mm. And this with a 13mm top plate! WOW!

    Yes, the C8RME150 cone kit is available. I can order it for you. Send me a PM if you need 2.
    The foam isn't available! At this particular speaker the foam is aquaplased. I've never seen this before.

    My fault!
    I did this placeholder in good hope to start T/S measurements. Then I killed my measurement system
    New system is on the way

    At the moment I'm beating the hell out of them to break them in.

    1st rough Fs measurement showed 47Hz!! After beating them a bit it dropped to 39Hz.
    Still out of spec!!

    The spider is very stiff and the foam also due to the aquaplas on it.

    T/S Specs Speaker 1

    So, finally I've setup my new measurement system and managed to measure the ME150H for future reference.

    Sensitivity is ~95dB
    Le is ~1,18mH

    I'll still break them in a bit

    Here are the T/S Specs for Speaker 1

    Frequency response ME150H

    I do not have the 10 cuft closed test box from JBL.
    So I used my 4435 low chamber. 5 cuft tuned to 27 Hz.

    Red = 2234H
    Blue = ME150H

    First graph: BB6
    Second graph: real measure
    BB6 says a bid more output for the ME around 30 Hz but it's not.

    Very interesting how close these 2 speakers measure. Didn't check how they sound in comparison yet.
