    yep first thing i did.
    Case was empty. when i got to the guys home he looke quite surprised to see that there was a case for a battery that he didnt know about for almost 9 years.
    he pretended to know alot about speakers but he was quikly unmasked thanx to the jbl forum.
    finally i have a pair of 604 8g's....there not easy to find in the netherlands

    Yeah well, that's what those owner's manuals are for...

    It's nice to see a forum member with a pair of these.

    G.T. also did a floor standing version which never made it to Production.

    The battery will take time to charge the caps...

    You should hear more improvement over the next few days.

    well i cant wait.
    played some well recorded live music and heard things ive never heard before.
    they sound very much alive and open. Bass is tight and present but not boomie. im gonna take a pile of my favourite albums and cd's pop open a beer and slide into happiness (until my wife comes home ofcourse haha)
    at least they passsed te WAF so she aint that bad.
    finally i have a pair of 604 8g's....there not easy to find in the netherlands

    One thing about WAF - if the loudspeakers sound really good women grant extra leeway.

    Its impossible to explain. beleive me ive tried.
    its my luck she likes gold.
    its no luck around her birthday

    yep and for me the perfect gift is for her to leave the house and just let me be with my music. Dont open the curtains for two days unplug the tv rip out the phone and blast out strapping young lad

    thanks that was very interesting.
    I was able to expirience this effect at first hand. The moment the batteries were placed they sounded less tight then 3 days later. Everything seems more balanced now and i think they have reached there peak.
    first day there was some moving around by the individual instruments now there's great pin pointing.
    It seems the effect of the charged capacitators has more influence in the higher and mid range of the audible spectrum than in the lower regions.
    finally i have a pair of 604 8g's....there not easy to find in the netherlands
