Some kind of happiness is measured out in miles
where did you shoot that.he looks about the age he was at monterey.i saw him live many years ago but i am photographically challenged.sadly my albums from that period are long gone but i found them on cd .are you into the music of zakir hussain.ive been told that he is decended from shankars original tabla player(i am too lazy to get up and check the spelling)
well they say that if you remember the 60's you werent really there.i saw the airplane once but ill be damned if i can remember any of it.but im told i had a good time.too bad more of that kind of stuff wasnt filmed.i hope in the next little while that the vaults are mined for as much as possible of the old stuff.i betcha the old stuff doesnt give the artists any royalties though.it was however a great time to grow up musically.its hard to describe to young guys the impact of a buddy dropping by with an armload of new albums of stuff that had was totally new and unique.i can remember playing miles, santana, ccr, beatles, stones, and johnny cash, ravi shankar, and janis in a single evening and it all fit together somehow.
Saw the Doors and Chambers Brothers in '68. Only remember that the CB did a good show , Morrison was drunk and the cops stopped the show when Jim pulled a beer bottle out of the front of his leather pants.
Summer '67 ...ALL we played was "Sargent Peppers LHB" and Johnny Rivers "Realization" ALL summer.

I watched the Concert for Bangladesh the other night. I was singularly struck by Shankar's set.
It holds up well over 35 years, while some of the other performances take on an aged, dated atmosphere by comparison.
It is amazing to see how young they all are.
