    E-140 recone is really JBL?

    Hey guys,

My first post here. Ever since a befriended bass player advised me to try D-140s for bass guitar, I've been a big JBL enthousiast. (I used to play EV-loaded Mesa/Boogies, but the JBLs surpass those soundwise). I now have three Fender Dual Showman 2x15"s which I use for bass guitar, loaded with either E/K/D-140s, or a combination. Very warm/round sounding speakers, solid bass tone and I never miss any highs with these 15"s.

I recently bought a reconed E-140 for 25 euros, and I was wondering if there is a way to determine wether the new cone is an original JBL cone. The seller could not tell me this. I tried searching the forum. Either I suck at this, or the question hasn't been answered before. Any help would be much appreciated. Here are some pics:

It looks to be authentic to me.

I have a number of 2-15 cabinets loaded with JBL K140s and love their sound on electric bass.

Pic 3 is simply the back of the driver.
