oppo hi def combi player

anyone here use the hi def combi player by oppo the DV-970HD ? i read an article in the perfect sound about it, and it appears to be quite a bargain at $149.00 I went ahead and bought one myself but am very interested in hearing other owner oppinions. REGARDS JIM

ok i recieved my oppo 970 universal player 2 days ago, and have been running it through its various formats. and i have to admit its the best $149.00 i have ever spent. the sound is great the picture is very nice. even though i primarily bought this as a universal player for audio. they make 2 other models currently, the oppo DV-971HD and the oppo DV-981HD both of which are very nice players. here is a link to a shootout by secrets of home theater hifi. in this one the 971 is tested against other players. it scored the highest of any of them, beating out a denon-5910 which came in 2nd btw and even a $13k player by esoteric. http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/cgi-b...h&articles=all the customer service is excellent also. they are constantly developing firmware upgrades for there players which are sent to you by email, then you burn onto a blank cd, pop it into the player and its done.
