Help needed with 1st speakers - Non Jbl

    I need some help.

These were my 1st speakers before I bought JBL. I must have got these in about 1977 from my neighbor who bought some 4333's he sold me these. Anyway I got dudded when I went to resourrond the woofers about 15 years ago. The people said I couldnt get replacement surronds and replaced the woofers, after that they never souded right again. I had new transformers installed about 12 years ago but they had to disconnect to the attenuation controls. At the moment they sound a bit bright (but very clear) and have etone 118's and are not real flash.

I think originally they may have had Jantzen woofers but I am not sure. I was hoping someone might be able to reccomend a suitable 10"'s for me either JBL or non jbl. I have checked on the web but can find no information whatsoever about these speakers.

About some JansZen I have information, but not this type exactly. Janszen used an 28 cm (11 inch) woofer with a 40 mm voice coil and 200000 Maxwell. For todays standards it is only little information.
Can you tell us something about the HT-supply, why had you to diconnect the attenuation controls?

Here's your schematic parts list and the brochure

    http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/speakers/ES_14.pdf

    http://www.crownaudio.com/pdf/speake...eriesflyer.pdf

All it has is a woofer part number so I doubt it will help all that much.

I have a pair of 10" woofers from the similar 4-tweeter panel Janszen speaker. I'll sell them to you if you want them. I'll take photos this weekend.

Thanks for the links to Crown, they were very interesting and much better than anything I found.

    Dave,

I would be interested in purchasing the speakers, freight to Aus is still affordable.

    Hoerninger,

I found a guy that could wind new transformers both audio and power, but didnt have the full schematics etc to integrate the electrostic level controllers and there may hve been other problems as well. His transformers though are virtually bullet proof.

    regards
    Michael
