Cool vintage audio display at San Francisco airport

On my way out of town yesterday, I left out of the San Francisco airport. Leaving through Terminal 3, I had to walk the entire length of Concourse B - well, run actually since I seriously misjudged the amount of time getting through security.

To my amazement, the entire concourse hallway was filled with glass cases of audio gear including profiles of significant inventors such as John Eargle and Henry Kloss.

The bad news about such an exhibit is that you have to clear security with a boarding pass to see it. I do hope to have enough time coming back this coming weekend to spend more time wandering down the concourse.

Hope someone else sees it, too.

Is it a permanente exibit? Why would they put it where you had to have a ticket, probably with certain airlines?

A fellow mentioned this exhibit to me yesterday. He said that it is in the concourse that leads to the United Airlines gates, and that you have to have a plane ticket to see it since it is past the security checkpoint.

David, I hope that you can take a few pictures on your return trip, or at least make note of some of the display contents and give us a report.

The exhibits in Terminal 3 are frequently outstanding and cover a wide range of topics. The audio exhibit will be on display until May of 2007.

While you do need a ticket to see the exhibit, there is nothing stopping someone from purchasing a full fare fully refundable ticket and then cashing it in... not the way I'd like to play the game, but since they require you to be a ticketed passenger... that is one way to get in.
