How to test transitors?

Anyone know the procedure for testing FET transistors? And if so, what is it Im looking for?

I have an old JBL unit I think some of the discrete FET,s are bad, but not sure.

Anyone?

Take care with some of these out-of-circuit, it's easy for
certain types to blow from static electricity.

... guess you didn't say output stage or small signal devices...
a 'scope can be pretty handy, especially if you have a working
channel to compare levels/signals to.
