    SB-1

    Hi all,

I am trying to get some technical information about the SB-1 sub. Can you tell me where to find it ? Also, having in front L96 and control one as surround, do you think this SB1 could be used as a sub for home cinema ? I have a studio lab subwoofer and wondering if this SB1 would not be more adapted to the rest of my system...

If some of you have heard it, can you tell me your feeling about it ? I know some of the lastest sub are quite huge for home cinema, but what about this one ?

Thanks in advance for your time,
    ToFKiTaFF!

Control Sub-1 is the smallest of the Triple Chamber Bandpass (TCB) products. It's more suited to a computer sound system than cinema due to output limitations:

The larger Control Sub-5 will work for a small setup, like I have in my office:

Same for the current Control Sub-2:

You can see that none of these has enough reach into the lowest octave(s) to really qualify as cinema subwoofers, but they will provide good supplemental bass in music systems of appropriate size.

    Smile thanks !

Indeed, the lowest frequency is too high to use it as HC subwoofer, but only to support speakers such as the control one series for musical purposes . Anyway I will may be have chance to try them quite soon, it will be interesting to enlarge my JBL experience !

    Thanks a kind regards,
    ToFKiTaFF !

    Yes, do that, absolutely!

Take them apart (remove the bottom, I think,) and have a look. Here's what's going on with them:
