    Project with Planar-magnetic transducers

I'm working on a new project: JBL 2235H + Bohlender&Graebner RD50 or RD75 planar-magnetic transducers. Two way active with a Hypex UCD400 and a UCD180. Crossover will be digital, I'm looking at one from Groundsound. Anyone experience with this crossover??

    I guess not...

I am familiar with the Bohlender Graebner products, but I have never used any of them. I've never heard of Groundsound.

Sorry... if it doesn't say JBL or Altec on it, it must not be any good.

Have a look at www.groundsound.com they have a very interesting stereo 3 way digital crossover kit.

Widget is correct, if you mention products other than JBL here people's eyes kind of glaze over and they give you a blank stare.

I you want to know more about BG products there are some moderators at this discussion board who use them http://www.htguide.com/forum/forumdisplay.php4?f=6, and a few members who have used the larger BG drivers.

This guy also tested the small BG NEO3PDR against a bunch of higher priced ribbon drivers and he found that the BG had the best performance and lowest distortion.

Stig Erik Tangen has designed some studio monitors using planar magnetics. Check out his home theater link and the Griffin studio monitors link. I corresponded with him, and other than the Philips planar that is no longer produced, he told me the BG NEO3 was the best performing planar he could find.

Here is a site all about the bigger planars
