    4311 Monitors

Saw a nice pair of 4311 monitors in a small shop today. All looked good but only an employee was present who was not able to play or quote numbers for them.

They are just small bookshelf size but look to be in good condition.

Any advice if I go back to try to deal on these or should I save my gas.

I'd say they would be worth the gas to give them a listen. Suggest you do some homework here so you will know what the correct components are when you inspect them. If the cabinets, grills and components are correct and in good shape and you like the sound IMO if their priceed under $300 they would be a very good deal.

4311 was the pro version of L100.

They sold for less originally, and still do.

    Start at $100.

There's some on eBay drawing $390, no bids at $399, and BIN at $250, pickup only.

Completed items shows them going from $152 to $560, and BIN'd at $290.

I'd walk at $200 even if they were good....

I can see I am getting an edgemacation in this stuff. I had planned to buy them right then for $150 if they worked and sounded good.
Glad I couldn't here or deal on them today.

Now I need a good photo of what the components should be so I can ID them immediately. They are sitting on the floor but have white woofers, about 12" with accordion surrounds. Did not get a great look at the mid and tweet and only looked inside one.
It is quite a ride but a rather pretty one this time of year in the NE.

    Thank you.

    Ummmmm.......
If you pass at $200 let me know. Realistically they go for $300 to $600 today for a good pair.

Thank you for the very fine Pic!
Woof and tweet look the same. Mid is black instead of silver but otherwise looks the same.
They are in very nice shape and work fine but the reason there was no price and the kid watching the store had no clue is because they are not for sale.
Apparently the shop owner uses these when playing his guitar.

The searching continues! Actually--- It never stops!

Superbees estimated selling prices of $300-$600 depending on condition is what I was figuring on when I said anything under $300 would be a decent price to pay for the 4311. Also take into account the location, up state New York, not far from MA and the home of the east coast lack of sound. Advent, Bose etc. It's difficult to find JBLs in this neck of the woods. Suggest you keep an eye on your local Craigslist.

    4311B in NY

These have been on Craig's list NYC for a few days now. They look pretty nice. Not $150 but $350 or best offer (includes chair stands!).

Thanks BMWCCA for the info. Those do look quite nice and have the same mids as the subject ones of this thread.
He should loose the chair stands!

The thought of driving into NYC for these is a nightmare by itself.
The deal would have to be very good for that trip.

I need more speakers like I need a hole in my head but being a kind of Altec Diehard I thought I might score the pair here just to hear what all you guys know and love.
Friends had L 100 Century's back in the days and they were quite nice.
Others had L 200s and L 300s and they were more to my liking.
Who ever said size doesn't matter must have been a sissy!

Actually they look like quite a substantial seat and just might handle something in the line of a Gordzilla rear.

Think they are part of the deal because he needs to get rid of them as well.
