    4435 Clone Project

    Hi All.
I am new here and would appreciate any help/direction. Go easy on me
So I am starting a JBL 4435 clone type of build. So far I have the below:
    2 x 2234H Drivers
    2 x 2426H CD Drivers
    4 x 2344 Horns ( I know I only need 2 but sometimes you need spares)
    1 x 5234A Active Crossover
    1 x 5234 Active Crossover
    2 x 800Hz Cards
    2 x 1000Hz Cards.
L-Pads (NOS) I have from a friend but still to pickup.
The cabinets will be professionally built in Melbourne Australia where I live.
I will be using two ME SE300 300w monoblocks for the LF in parallel.
and an ME850 for the HF.

    So I have some questions:
    1. Does anyone have ANY 4435 parts they can offer for sale? Especially 2 x 2234H or crossover related parts?
    2. Can someone tell me if I go active without the original internal crossovers is there a way to get the second woofer to run at 20-100Hz?
    3. Ultimately I would like to build passive crossovers to match the originals with the option to split the LF and HF to bi-amp or even run off a stereo amp. Can anyone help here? I'm not great at schematics etc. but have friends who may be able to build them. But I'd like to learn also.

For crossover see below, you have both options, for biamp or full passive

    HI Jak;

Believe it or not, JBL still has the 4435 networks in stock as spare parts. They do not have the Lpads or cover plates though.

Best of luck with your build!

Barry, listening to his 4435's as he types this. (:
If we knew what the hell we were doing, we wouldn't call it research would we.

Hi Barry. I did see them at Jands here in Australia on their list and I think they were $1500 AUS each. I can buy a pair of full speakers at the moment for $4500 so it's not really economical that way unfortunately. Cheers Jake

Ouch! That’s a lot more than they would cost over here.

    Sorry ‘bout that.

Sure and I will ask my guy here too.

    Barry.

My company ships to Au on occasion so that would not be an issue.

    Barry.
Thanks Barry I would appreciate that immensely.
Very kind of you. It's a slow burn project. I'm taking my time as I have some JBL S4600 keeping me happy as well.
